Welcome to Radio Free Emily 2009/10, brought to you by Emily Carr University of Art and Design!
What is RFE?
Our local low-power radio station broadcasts around Granville Island on the FM band at 88.5 and is also streamed over the internet. Our content is provided mostly by students, playing their own projects, music mixes, poetry and speech, and whatever else they want to play.
The station is also used for art installations, providing a way to bus sound around campus, into various galleries and exhibits.
Get Involved!
If you're a student at ECUAD, getting started in the world of RFE broadcasting is as easy as signing up for a slot on Station 30 (broadcast booth in 406B). Sign up sheets are located in room 406. If you need technical assistance with the broadcast booth, see Matt Stephanson in the FVIM area, or email him mstephanson@ecuad.ca for more info.
Spread the Word!
Let your friends and family know about RFE and the fact that you've got a show coming up that they can tune into. It's a great way to get your stuff out there in the ether and on the web.
